Pepi Ginsberg — “The Waterline”

Stunning vocals twinged with slightly minor a cappella notes make Pepi Ginsberg‘s style all her own, as is her tendency to write admirable prose in her bathtub. “The Waterline” is a few years aged, but Pepi plays Brooklyn’s Cameo Gallery tonight and suggests that she may offer a taste of some new tracks.

This Jackson Heights-birthed band has been around the bend, but they continue to impress with their ’60s/garage mashup style that has a range of style: all the swoons of “I Think I Might’ve Built A Horse” and that faded pool party vibe of “Pick Another Corner.”

If scratchy witnesses to long-gone times, The Beets‘ tunes are still entirely fresh.

Happiest Lion — “Sacred Valley, Holy Water”
